NOTE: Replace SampleFreecycle with the name of your Freecycle/Yahoogroups group.

- To subscribe / Join the SampleFreecycle group
- To unsubscribe / Leave the SampleFreecycle group
Once you are in a group:-
- Respond to an Offer or Wanted request
- Email types - Normal / Digest / Nomail (I'm getting too many emails)
- Change your email address (You do not need to unsubscribe/subscribe)
- Send an OFFER or WANTED to your SampleFreecycle group.
- Contact the group owner/moderators.
By Email:- ( No Yahoo ID required )
- Send a blank email to SampleFreecycle-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
- Wait a few minutes, and you will receive an email from Yahoogroups.com
- Reply to this email.
Online:- ( If you have a Yahoo ID )
- Log into Yahoogroups with your YahooID.
- Go to the Freecycle Group website :- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SampleFreecycle/join
- Set your membership preferences.
- Choose a profile you'd like to display to the SampleFreecycle group
- Select the email address at which you'd like to receive group messages,
- Choose how you receive SampleFreecycle messages,
- You need a Yahoo ID to signup via the Yahoogroups website. You will have access to the various web features, and access to the files / Message archive.
- Anyone can join via email - However you won't have access to view messages on the website, or other website features.
By Email:-
- Send a blank email to SampleFreecycle-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
- Wait a few minutes, and you will receive an email from Yahoogroups.com
- Reply to this email, and you are now unsubscribed / not a member of the group.
Online:-
- Log into Yahoogroups with your YahooID.
- Go to the Freecycle Group website :- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SampleFreecycle/join
- Follow the steps to leave the group.
- You need a Yahoo ID to leave a group via the website.
- Anyone can leave via email
If you have any problems leaving the group, please contact the Group owner/moderators
If you want to respond to an OFFER, or a WANTED request, please direct the reply to the person making the offer/wanted request.
You can do this either by email, or on the Yahoogroups website, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SampleFreecycle/messages/ and click 'reply' when you are viewing the specific message.
Normal mode:
Send an email to SampleFreecycle-normal@yahoogroups.com
This is the normal / standard setting when a person first joins the group.
You will receive each message one at a time as they are sent to the group address.
Nomail mode:
Send an email to SampleFreecycle-nomail@yahoogroups.com
This is useful if you read / reply to messages on the Freecycle (Yahoogroup) website :- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SampleFreecycle/messages/, but do not wish to receive each message in your in-box.
Digest mode:
Send an email to SampleFreecycle-digest@yahoogroups.com
This is a daily digest of up to 25 messages in a single email.
If your group has more than 25 emails, a digest will be issued, and the remainder of the messages will be sent in another digest at the end of the day.
Reminder: If you are on digest, you can still read/reply to emails on the SampleFreecycle website.
Changing your email address that you use for the SampleFreecycle group - does not require you to unsubscribe and then resubscribe.
Yahoo! Groups allows you to link up to 5 email addresses to your Yahoo! ID.
Any email address you wish to use must be listed as an alternate email address in your Yahoo! Account Information and must be verified.
To add an email address follow these steps:
- Go to your yahoo account. (If you are on one of the Yahoo Groups you can access this by clicking the "My Account" link on the top right of the page.)
- Click on the "edit" link across from where it says "Member Information".
- Go down to "Email Information" add a secondary email address and follow the instructions to verify this email address.
Please follow these steps to change the email address you use on the SampleFreecycle group.
- Go to the group where you wish to change email addresses. - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SampleFreecycle/
- At the top just above the name of the group will be a link "Edit Membership" - click on it.
- There should be a list of your verified email address listed - chose the one you wish to use.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on "save changes"

However, if you still need help, please feel free to ask for assistance from your local SampleFreecycle moderators.
- Send an email to SampleFreecycle@yahoogroups.com
- Format the message like this :-
- Subject: OFFER (your item name) (your town/area)
- text/Body: Put a description of what you are offering / wanting.
Do not put any private information - EG your phone number, or address.
depending on the size of the group, your message will be sent to hundreds, or even thousands of people.
When you get a reply, you can (if you wish) then send your contact information to those who you wish to give or receive your item(s).
