ADMIN - Inappropriate For List (User IDs)

ADMIN Notices - Inappropriate Posts for Group List - User IDs

***Replace all XXX references with your local group name***

Example #1
- Member Posted to the List with Inappropriate User ID

We appreciate your membership on XXX Freecycle(TM). As you know, this is a family-friendly site and anything posted needs to be appropriate for all ages. In that spirit we ask you to choose a more neutral alias for your Hotmail/Yahoo account and to hide the Yahoo profile behind an adult screen. We would actually prefer if you chose a different ID altogether. You can simply add an ID to your existing one. If you are not familiar with the steps, we would be more than happy to send you instructions.

We have removed your posting from the board and cannot approve any other postings until the requested changes have been made. Thank you so much for
your cooperation.

Example #2 - Member has Multiple User IDs

ADMIN: Using Multiple Identities/User IDs

Dear Freecycle(TM) Member,

As you are aware, there were/are concerns with multiple identities associated with your XXX Freecycle membership, email address, and the number of wanted posts.

Any one person should only be subscribed under one email address and with one group identity. This is to prevent any 'grabbiness' of a person using several emails and giving the impression they are different people in an attempt to 'get more stuff'. If you have joined with multiple email addresses and identities, please remove all except one.

The main focus of Freecycle is NOT 'free stuff for the sake of it' nor a 'shopping service', but in saving useful items from landfills, with the added benefits of fostering a community of environmentally and socially conscious people, with everyone mutually giving and benefiting.

We allow wanted posts for the reason that they remind other group members they may have useful stuff lying in storage that they've forgotten about that someone else could use, and to prevent that item from eventually being thrown into a landfill. A specific wanted post can be resubmitted AFTER 30 DAYS if a particular item has not been found. But again, be mindful that the purpose of Freecycle is not personal shopping service.

This group is moderated by a dedicated team who volunteer their time and energy because they believe in the noble aspirations of the Freecycle movement.

We hope we have your understanding and cooperation. Thank you.
