ADMIN - Wild cat posts

ADMIN Notices - Inappropriate Posts for Group List - Wild cat posts

***Replace all XXX references with your local group name***

WHAT IS A WILD CAT POST?

A "wild cat" post is one where the poster states, "here is what I am giving away, it is at XYZ address. Come and get it"

Or

The poster offers the item to the group, then, after receiving several replies, they send an email to all the respondents with their address and whoever gets there first, gets the item.

WHY THEY AREN'T ALLOWED.

When people respond to "wild cat" posts and go to the address, the first person that arrives tends to take the items. All other persons responding show up and get nothing. They have just wasted fuel to get something.

Worse yet, if person A gets there and is loading the items and person B gets there, expecting to get the items, it can lead to fights and other ill will.

These two situations break two guidelines that are established:

Be nice

and

Don't waste resources.

Please do not send these types of posts to the board as it will insure that your post is rejected and that you will be moderated.
