Using our group effectively

Useful tips for using AucklandFreecycle (Dated 6th July 2009)

1) Logging into website, Forget password etc....

2) Once you have logged in, there are three main areas you may regularly use.

1) Logging into website, Forget password etc....

To log into our website, or if you have forgotten your username or password, Please log into here :-

http://my.freecycle.org/

If you have forgotten your username (Or check if your email address is registered with us), please use the

" I'm not sure if I am.. >> Forgotten username" form.

If you do know your username, then use the " I'm not sure if I am.. >> Forgotten Password" Form.

You will get a response to the email address registered on the system..

2) Once you have logged in, there are three main areas you may regularly use.

:- Change your password

:- Change your email address

:- Delete your account

>> http://my.freecycle.org/home/groups - The "My Groups" Screen

:- Join the Auckland group ( just put "auckland" in the search box on the bottom of the screen)

Please note, we cover Waitakere, North Shore and Central Auckland areas.

Please use Manurewa Freecycle for Manukau city and South

:- You can also use this screen to change to/from digest, individual emails, and web-only reading.

:- Also for leaving our group.

Use this screen to

:- create a new message (OFFER / WANTED),

:- Mark an item as TAKEN / RECEIVED

3) You can post Offers/Wanteds by email ================================

Send an email to :- AucklandFreecycle@groups.freecycle.org

The subject of your post should follow these examples :-

OFFER: Chair (Takapuna)

WANTED: Table (Auckland CBD)

You put your OFFER /WANTED first, then a colon ( : ), then a short name of your item, then your area in brackets.

Put the rest of the information in the body / text of the email...

4) Contacting the moderators :-
