Welcome to the Scarborough & Whitby (UK) Freecycle group which is open to anyone living in or very near the Borough of Scarborough who wants to "recycle" something rather than throw it away. (Broadly speaking, the group covers from Speeton in the south to Scaling Dam in the north and Snainton in the west and includes the towns of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby plus the villages.

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,856 groups with 6,742,676 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and thus keeping good stuff out of landfills.

Membership is free, and everything posted must be FREE, legal and appropriate for all ages. At the moment, the Scarborough group is "opted out" of My Freecycle (since it is still in the beta testing phase). To view the items being sought or gifted in the Filey, Scarborough & Whitby area, you must be a member of Scarborough & Whitby Freecycle Yahoo group -
