Hello SWADLINCOTE Freecycle(TM) Members

The Big Day is here! The SWADLINCOTE Freecycle Group is now live on the Freecycle.org website!

You are now able to view postings on the new website, as well as post OFFERs and WANTEDs. The Yahoo Group is now closed for posting.

What does this mean for you?

The new site has a message maker capability that will allow you to post to the group easier and allows less room for error. This allows more posts to go through to the group without being rejected or edited.

What do you need to do?

First you will need to sign-up on the new website at http://my.freecycle.org. To sign-up, go to the website and click the Sign-Up link. Enter in the same email address that you currently use for the group and a User Name of your choice. You can use your current Yahoo ID if you prefer.

You will then receive your password to the site via email. Once you receive your password, log-in to the website at http://my.freecycle.org and the site will prompt you to change your password to one of your choice. After you have done so, click the My Groups link on the upper right and in the search box search for the SWADLINCOTE Freecycle group and click the Join This Group link. You are now a member on the new site!

PLEASE NOTE: It is very important that you sign up at the new website as soon as possible to continue being a member of this group. After 20/07/09 the Yahoo! Group will no longer be available for members to use. You can, however, begin using the new website right away to post messages. Once we fully move to Freecycle.org, you will be able to post messages and view member's postings.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: All new members are set up to receive No Emails upon joining. At this time Daily Digest is not yet available but it will be soon! If you prefer to receive Individual Emails you can change this setting by clicking on the 'My Groups' link at the top and changing your settings in the drop-down box. Please do not select 'Daily Digest' as it is not yet available. If you decide to stay on No Emails you can read all of the posts on the group itself by clicking the All Posts tab.
