The Five Golden Rules and Four Very Useful Things to Know!

Rule One: Please ensure that all items posted are FREE, legal and suitable for all ages. This means that firearms and knives are not allowed on the group. Any posts asking for money or referring members to another site will result in you being banned from the group.

Rule Two: Please don’t add telephone numbers or any other personal information to your posts. They will be removed for member safety, this is a public website.

Rule Three: If you post a wanted for an item and don’t get it, please wait a month before reposting so new people who may have it can join. Check too there isn’t already an offer on the board for what you want.

Rule Four: If you belong to more than one group can you post to your home group first before posting to further away groups to keep our carbon footprint low. Can you too leave at least 24 hours before posting to another group to allow time for local members to reply.

Rule Five: No animal offers or requests can be put on this site. Please use local rehoming charities or post on the café group. Rehoming charities can be found in the café group links. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eveshampershorefreecycle_cafe/

And Four Very Useful things to Know

Thing One: Only post one item per message as this makes marking your posts as taken or received easier.

Thing Two: If you want to tell us about events, local business info, local community stuff etc do go to the café group and put it there. This group is for offers and wanteds to save from landfill only. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eveshampershorefreecycle_cafe/

Thing Three: Everything you will ever need to change is contained in the ‘MY freecycle’ tab on the group pages (the orange box with 6 tabs along the top) apart from marking posts as taken which you can find if you click on orange my freecycle and then my posts.

Thing Four: When you have given away or received an item please go to the ‘my posts tab’ to mark it as taken/received. This stops the mail from appearing as open to all other members and tells them you have rehomed your item or received a wanted. This stops you getting emails about it for ever!
