Clarification: What to put in the Location box
Hi and welcome to Walsall Freecycle (R)!
After a few responses to a previous Admin regards location in messages it seems some clarification is needed.
When you post your wanted/offer on walsall MyFreecycle there is a little box which is denoted with "What is your approximate location?". A number of members have been putting "Walsall" in this box, which isnt really the ideal use of the box use, after all, this is "Walsall" freecycle (R)!
A better use of this box would be to put either the first part of your postcode or area name, for example WS2 or Bentley.

Why do this at all? After all a item is free regardless right?
Well some people are more concious about time, distance and environmental issues. For example a person in Delves is probably not going to apply for an offer of a bag of clothes in Brownhills if they dont have a car. Similarly people do work and quite often apply for offers from areas in the town that they drive through. I (personally) have had more of my offers picked up as they were passing through my area anyway for what ever reason they have.
So as a whole you probably increase your chances of your offer being taken if your a little more specific of your area.
*BUT* on a relevant note - please dont place any personal information in posts! By all means use the contact system to pass information that will make the transactions easier, but dont place things like exact address/ road names and phone numbers on offers or wanted posts.
We the admin have recieved a few comments on the new MyFreecycle system. Please let us know if you do have any further suggestions/ comments/ complaints about the system, as we can then forward any to the development team.
Thanks for being a part of Walsall Freecycle (R) group!
Many Thanks
