Welcome to the Burlington Vermont Freecycle group.

After signing up, please change your email settings to Daily Digest for one email per day or Individual Emails for lots of emails per day. New members have their emails automatically set to Daily Digest, so if you want to get notifications more regularly about Offers or Wanteds, then you will need to update your settings. It may take several days before a Digest email goes out, meaning that stuff is likely to already be taken. Set your email preferences by going to the My Groups tab. Next to the Burlington group is a drop-down menu. Choose "all emails" or "no emails" or "digest".

The Freecycle Network(TM) is a group of people who are giving and receiving free stuff locally. This branch is based in the Burlington, Vermont, area with 2199 members and is managed by volunteer moderators. Membership is free and everything posted must be free. Whether it's a chair, fax machine, piano, or an old door to be given away, it can be posted on the network. If you're looking to acquire something, respond to the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the recipient to pick up the treasure. If you are looking for an item, you may also request it. Please make sure that you give as well as take.

*Please carefully review the rules of this group before posting anything!* This group is for people living locally in the Chittenden County area. A couple of things may be different from other Freecycle groups: This group does not allow pets to be offered or accepted. We give the item to the first person to respond and go down the list of recipients in order. Offers and requests can be made through the My Posts tab or by email to BurlingtonVTFreecycle@groups.freecycle.org Once an item is taken, you can visit the group and click on My Posts to make the Offer turn into a Taken.
