Join Hands Day will promote recycling
May 4, 2006
Join Hands Day will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6 at the Anderson County Recycling Education Center, on the hill just across the street from the Civic Center in Anderson. Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club, ages 5-15 years, is partnering with Anderson County Environmental Services Division (ESD) — Solid Waste/Recycling, Animal Shelter, Air & Water Quality, Wastewater Management and Anderson Freecycle to promote civic pride and involvement and reducing, reusing and recycling of materials to divert waste from our landfills and to promote services provided for residents of Anderson County.
Join Hands Day is designed to bring youth and adults together to plan and complete volunteer service projects in the community. They also learn about each other and develop understanding and respect.
Following the meeting, the group will have an ice cream social and hot dog cookout.
