Instead of buying all food at Super Wal-Mart, some could be bought at the new farmers’ market, where people can buy locally grown food, which is inexpensive and much healthier as it has not endured all that processing and packaging needed for shipping long distances. We have some excellent alternatives for clothing: Goodwill, The Salvation Army, Twice as Nice are examples. www.freecycle.org offers used items free; perhaps we could establish this service locally.
