GIVE AWAY OLD ITEMS: After having lost almost everything in Hurricane Wilma, I joined an online group called Freecycle (www.freecycle.org), which has chapters in most cities. Members list things of value that they no longer need. No money changes hands, everything is free.

I was able to give things away I don’t use anymore and have received some amazing items that have helped us to slowly work on getting our home back together. – Jeanie, e-mail
