New Haven Register - No, they’re not crazy; if freecyclers have something you need, it’s yours for the asking
Your money’s no good here, friends. Barbara Sloan is giving her stuff away, and she won’t hear of taking cash for it.
But she and her buddies will happily take some of your stuff, if it’s something they want.
Sloan, a freelance writer who lives in Wallingford, is chief moderator of an online group called Freecycle New Haven, whose members offer everything from cars and kitchenware to pianos and plants — which they want to get rid of for free. The local group has about 3,400 members and there are thousands of other Freecycle groups worldwide, with some 3.1 million members. Connecticut alone has dozens of Freecycle groups, including Milford, Cheshire and Shelton
