Reduce, reuse, freecycle

GLADSTONE — Aware of my frugal nature, a friend told me about Freecycle.org. The site unites the concept of recycling with my favorite word: free.

Consisting of close to four thousand groups worldwide, Freecycle helps people find homes for useful items they no longer want. Needless to say (though I’ll say it to reach my word count quota), the recipient benefits as well.

After signing up with their local guild, members receive e-mailed notices of this, that, and the other thing being given away in their area. From furniture to fitness gear to Fido, all manner of merchandise passes hands, INCLUDING the kitchen sink.
