In the dead of night, a small army of Britons rifle through bins and skips in search of food, clothing and furniture. These self-styled “Freegans” discover feasts of slightly damaged food and bargain basement clothes discarded and forgotten, all waiting for landfill. This isn’t a passing student fad, but a full-frontal assault on our wasteful consumer culture.
