“Freecycle very much is about saving items from landfill, which in itself is a huge benefit, but it’s also much more than that,” wrote a woman named Vera, one of the Toronto freecycling group’s online moderators.
“But it is totally a group effort,” she adds. “The group makes it work, not any one individual. Without people to give items and others to take them, there would be no resultant benefit to our environment or to one another.”
