“I’m passionate about recycling,'’ Gowan said. “I have two little kids and the thought of them being hip deep in garbage by the time they are grown up is upsetting to me.'’
As a Freecycle moderator, Gowan spends five hours a week facilitating an Internet group that offers items free to members. Anyone can join to offer items, request needed items, or take items on offer.
