I am sorry to have to let you know that there has been a data breach of the Freecycle membership database. Specialists are looking into the details of this breach but it's clear that it has occurred and that they have gained access to *passwords* as well. You will need to change your password on Freecycle.org immediately. You will need to also change the password if you use that same one elsewhere, to be safe. The tech team is doing all they can to shore things up and to get a banner posted on the live freecycle.org site ASAP for members and we'll be emailing them as well.
