Scam messages
We've recently received reports of Freecycle members receiving scam messages in response to their posts. Usually by the time you have received such a message, the offending account has been removed. Please stay alert and follow these steps if you receive a suspicious message:
* Do not respond if asked for payment or financial details.
* Do not click on any links in the message.
* Do not share credit card or banking details.
All Freecycle interactions should be completely free of any sort of payment requirement. Any request for any sort of payment or financial details should be reported to the moderators.
Please note:
* Do not mark the message as spam in your email client, as this may prevent you from receiving legitimate Freecycle emails in the future.
* The suspicious message will be removed from your My Messages page once reported.
