Do not respond to ‘Loan Offers’

 

Dear Freecycle Members,

 

We’ve recently been made aware of scam messages being sent to members in response to their posts. These messages often claim that you “qualify for a loan” or can receive money if you contact an external email address.

 

Please be aware that these messages are scams. The senders are not affiliated with Freecycle, and they are attempting to collect personal or financial information.

 

✅ What to do if you receive one:

 

Do not reply to the message.

Do not email the address provided.

Report it to me directly by forwarding the message or letting me know the sender’s name so we can take action.

 

 

Your safety and trust are very important to us, and we’re working to remove these accounts as quickly as possible. Thank you for staying alert and helping keep our community safe and scam-free.
