Moderator Needed for Selby Group

Selby Town Group is looking for a volunteer moderator. 

 

If you're interested in making a contribution to your community and your planet and keeping stuff out of the local landfill, then please keep reading.  

Being a moderator doesn't require a lot of time but does require some dedication. There is a lot of support available. It's fun and it's a small thing that can make such a big difference. 

Here are some frequently asked questions about being a moderator. 

What does a moderator do? Daily, you will approve or reject messages that have been flagged for moderation. As needed, you will respond to emails from members and calmly handle any issues or complaints that come in. You'll keep an eye on the group and remove inappropriate posts. 

 

What are the requirements for being a moderator? You should be somewhat computer savvy and have regular access to the Internet. You will need to have a few spare minutes each day to spend moderating the group. You will be tactful and have a good communication skills..  

 

We are looking for a Moderator who can  assist the current Group Moderator until the end of the year/New Year and then take full control of the group until  as soon as possible after the New Year in 2024. You could if you wish recuit another Moderator to help you. The group has a total member database over just over 4400 members. This has increased by 800 persons over the past three years and is growing so it may be wise to recuit another person to help out for holidays etc. .
