Collection of offerd items notice

Dear members.

It has come to our attention that not all members are following our guidelines on collection of offered item's. 

These are the guidelines set out by the global Freecycle.org who set up all the amazing individual sites allowing members of a community to come together to save usable item's from ending up in the local land fills around the globe. 

Here is a breakdown of the guidelines:

Once you have made contact with a gifting member and are lucky to be selected to receive the item, here are the steps for arranging collection;

Reply to the gifting member with a thank you. 

Swap contact numbers for quick communication, address, time.

Collect the item you have been gifted ensuring you have the correct vehicle size for the whole item to be collected all together. 

Ensure you have the correct amount of helpers to assist you with collecting the item from the gifter. 

When removing a large item from the gifters property, ensure that you do no damage to the gifters property. 

Keep open communication, if you have changed your mind, or have transport problems, please contact the gifting member straight away, do not leave the gifting member in the dark with your change of mind, not only is this rude, it is unfair to the gifting member, please do not ignore them reaching out to you, do not block communication and not turn up, this is not the ethos behind the group. 

 

The gifting member;

Please do not mark your post as taken until it has been collected as this will permanently remove all messages through our platform. 

Please swap contact numbers so you can send your address and pickup details. 

Please ensure that you are available for the collection time and the item is ready for collection. 

If your item is large, please make as much room as possible, so when the item is collected, the collecting member or hired van can remove the item without damaging the item and your personal property. 

Please do not cut off communication with the collecting member, this is not the ethos of Freecycle.org.
